wireless router for AOL bb. (bumped for help)

Does it matter which one i get? will they al work with AOL bb??

I want one so i can play my nintendo DS online...

any suggestions??

or can ijust get a thingy to plug into the usb connection so that the DS ca nfind the bb connection?

They should all work.
I've recently installed a Netgear 834G no problems for a friend on AOL. The supplied USB modem is nothing short of shocking.

Hmm, depends.
You can use a normal ethernet cable to go to the router from your PC - you just need a network card on the PC itself.

If you don't have one, you can get them for like £5 - £10.

Well, I'm guessing your PC will be near the router anyway, so it's better to be cabled.
You'll then use Wifi for the DS or any laptops/other PCs in the house at a guess.

Check on your PC for a socket which looks like this:

Should be slightly bigger than a modem port.

lol i don't use the AOL 9.0 software. got XP to automatically log on BB without needing to use it

bring on the pain sucka!

I only have an old crappy modem on the back of my computer and no ethernet thingy.

Could i just plug the wireless router in using my USB cable i have and then use the DS wireless anyway??

please help a techno leper in dispair!!!

The thing is seb, you should be able to connect the DS to the router regardless of it (the router) being connected to a pc!

What model is the router you are using? I'll check the connections - I've not seen a wireless router with a usb port before, except for ones that connect to the speedtouch usb modems, and that usb port is nothing to do with pc connectivity.

And no you do not need an ethernet card to have wireless.

I am currently using some s**t router (bt voyager 105 adsl modem) aol gave me with a usb cable inot my computer.

My comp is form circa 2001 so i don't have any ethernet thingy..

That modem is just a usb modem and its a piece of s**t - like all usb modems.

Connect your pc up to the usb thing, and get the nintendo wifi usb dongle from somewhere like game, or amazon. That will be your easiest bet if you only want to use wireless for the DS
