I'm none too sure really mate as i had all my ICE fitted professionally, but I've just done a search on web and came across this which isn't really a guide but it mentions that you need a model-specific patch lead. Do you have this?

When used in conjunction with Autoleads PC99-XXX range of adaptor leads, the PC99-X12 allows the original Renault steering wheel remote functionality to be retained when installing an aftermarket head unit.
Please note that this part connects to the reverse of the original radio remote display, which often requires removal of the dash top panel in order to install. For simpler installation, see also SRNS003.

This interface does not retain dash display functionality. To retain the dash display, part number DRNS003 can be used instead, in conjunction with a Sony CD changer control head unit.

Any idea how much it would cost me to get the leads put in professionally, with me supplying the leads?

Remove screws (11 in my 182, iirc) and A pilars covers, then pull dash out from the middle. does need quite a pull to remove it.
