wiring from the courtesy light

  16v 1.6 Clio MK3 GT
I'm putting blue foot-well lights into the car (mk2 clio), wiring the + and - through the A frame is simple enough i guess, but how do you get it up to the courtesy light?

I pulled the courtesy light out of its socket, but cant see which way its going around to the main loom, is it on the driver side or passenger side (although by looking at it I think passenger).

the other issue is the top carpet (or whatever it is) how do i go about pulling it down without destroying everything (believe me, i wud lol).

Also, regarding the wiring, ive checked the haynes manual and seems the red wire is for courtesy light and white for the map light, is this right?

The courtesy light wiring comes down the passenger front pillar and plugs in up by the speaker/tweeter in the dash.

I've installed blue footwell lights in my clio mate. If you want I can post a picture when I'm home from work of the wiring at the light?

As far as the headlining goes; it's a pain to feed the wires through but it's possible without ruining it haha!

I'll take a couple of pics when I get home :)

Which interior light have you got? The single unit or the one with the reading light?

ah right, so is the top lining glued in or anything, i just dont wanna wreck it like a hulk smash lol

Yeah it's got a glue on it but behind the sun visors there is a gap. If you make just enough room at the top of the A-Pillars you can feed the wires through :)

I'm unless with anything electrical, would I be able to wire one to my boot light and stick the light to roof lining ? I've got a van so needs more light in there really

Yes.

And as for the Black wire (negative) that can touch any bare metal in the bodywork of the car it doesn't have to be touching a negative wire.
