Lol at people who drive a Clio judging a Fiesta as being a bit Toby.

Also double lol at 'my Clio has a smooth gearbox'. The only way anyone could think that Renault gearboxes aren't completely s**t, is if they'd never driven another car. The gearbox in the Clio is terrible. It truly has no good features at all. Even the placement of the shifter is awful. You can't even reach it if you're tall and have the chair right back.

FYI Escort Cosworth wheels are a lot wider than the Escort GTI wheels, think they were 8J's.

Weird, the ballast box things have Ford written all over them but they are just floating about in the engine bay. Possible dealer service or something ?

Hopefully the stripes are coming off over the course of the week. Just need to nick the sister hair-dryer.

I found a hair dryer made the stripes a pain in the arse to remove. Just slowly peel them off.

Then Cosworth inlet with 60mm TB and cosworth cams and remap.

You also have to give it a MOP after the winter

Nearly bought one a couple of years back but in all seriousness, at the time i couldnt afford one, so yup, bought another clio, purely as it was cheaper. For me, remove stripes, spray wheels silver, lower it, breathing mods. Enjoy.

Fingertips are no more! The OTT stripes are off and has left to discoloured stripes down the car :S Will polish out I hope. Next are the side ST stickers. And after Christmas the wheels are getting resprayed silver.

Yea unless you take the glass of the front you need to smash the plastic and pick the bits out with long nosed pliers !

Well...... Apart form driving it back form where I got it which was about 15 miles I haven't been able to tax it ! Basically the guy who owned it before me tried to sell it up to the point that he gave the green slip to the new guy, he signed it all. Then pulled out of it for some reason before money changed hands. So he then Part-xd it. So the V5 came with the car had no slip so i could tax it. So just waiting for the new V5 to come back from the DVLA Thankfully though I have use of a van to get me to work now so its not annoyed me too much but still.

So this afternoon I took the side stripes off. All went well apart from the drivers side rear ST logos. The stickers have been lacquered over and have left a very visible outline Any suggestions ?

Have you tried just polishing it, When i removed the sign writing on our works van it looked similar to that.

i know im not the most experienced but why is the St getting so much stick? looks lovely to me. i like the stripes down the side but not on top but thats just me. if your planning on making it like the white one posted itll look bang on.

Cheers mate, Now iv seen them in the light i quite like the silver and black. Think it will be even better once iv sprayed the bumper plastics gloss black also !

So took the car out for a proper spin this morning and am delighted with it. Probably the placebo effect but doesn't feel as slow as I thought it would against the Clio. But its swings and roundabouts to be honest. Both cars have advantages over each other, Im happy though.

As far as plans go iv got to fit the K&N, Let Sam (mr_n) lose on it with his cleaning skillz. Then it will go from there Got my eye on some MK3 Mondeo calipers on fleabay at the mo.
