Wont start once engine is hot

Evening all,

clio 172. Used tracks days only. Is road legal too so drive to tracks etc. trouble I’m having is after so long the car won’t start. Not even try to tick over. I can do a track day all day until mid afternoon then it just won’t start. Bump starts no problem though.

we have re earthed it any other ideas?

Sorry, this guy is right. I didn’t see that you said it wouldn’t then over. Sounds like the starter is getting red hot.

Check the wiring while your down there, seen a clio or 2 where the little solenoid wire is baked..

Ok thanks guys. I have that sensor so will change that anyway but will also do a starter motor too. It keeps my mate fit anyway giving me bump starts 😂

If it was TDC it’d turn over but not fire, I mis-read.

It's the starter motor. If it won't turn over at all when hot.

You can change the starter by shredding your arms to ribbons under the car.

No I was just checking the number on it to get one ordered hopefully next week or 2 before track day in feb.
