Wont start/turn over... Phase 1 172

I believe this may be immobiliser related..

For a week its been intermitedly not starting, leave it a while starts, try it and then it doesnt.. All the lights seem to stay on with the key out - disconnect the battery and they go out, re-connect and they come back on. The immob light flashes then they all go out?? The starter motor 'seems' fine - i.e it will fire when the car does want to play ball so doubt its that?

Can anyone suggest anything before i break it and buy an S3?

Tried the spare key!? (battery okay in regualr key)

The immobiliser light stays on or goes out normally, after unlocking with the central lock button?

Remove the 3 UCH fuses with contact on, wait 5 min's and re-install. Then key out and try starting again after unlocking with the central lock button?

Deffo immobiliser related imo. Same happened with my Integra. Sometimes when I tried to start it I had to turn the key 10 times before it would start. Turned out to be immobiliser related.

Or the 'magic ring' around the steering column key... should pick up the signal.

Sorry for my ignorance - these UCH fuses, where are they located? Also, i dont have the spare key however i changed the battery and its still the same?

Right played about with a few things today. The starter seems to click and not turn so i think its that. Checked all the fuses via a meter and they seem okay. All wires seem in tact so im going through the starter route to begin with! Bump started it also and it ran fine..

Err. the fusebox on the passenger side at the dashboard end (open the door), since you're a right hand driver.

On the inside of the fusebox lid they're marked with UCH (3 fuses)...

I checked them all buddy, all have good connections from what i can see

Theres a white multiplug behind the passenger side headlight for the uch-ecu loom. Pull that apart and check for corrosion.

Also check earth strap on gearbox hasnt come off

Right im fucked if i know what this is - still havent fitted the starter motor as it hasnt f**king arrived !!!

The hazards are now flashing on their own accord, most of the lights in the dash are on and the immob light keeps flashing!!

Batteries disconnected now aswell

Tried bump starting it when it has it's hissy fit and not starting? If it does bump start then you'll know for certain it's the starter motor that's knackered.

It bump starts no problem mate... Its the flashing of the hazard lights and lights that stay on on the dash that are baffling me??
