work so far

Car  clio 172 sport, zxr6
engine developed a little rattle so we decided to strip it down and find the fault.

first we took of the rocker cover etc to see if the lifters where ok.

first thought was that if i had to take the rooker cover off i would fit some cams.

found that the lifters where fine so next choice was to remove the head

so i am now thinking if i take the head off iam gioing to get the head gas flowed etc

head off now then and we found some play on piston no 4. not good

they are going to gas flow the head and do 3 angles valve seats,
they have also checked the block and recommened i get some over sized pistons so i oredered some high compression wossner forged pistons from

wow saw your car run at york this year it was quick lol dont think the guy in the cossie liked it tho lol

result the block, head and fly wheel are ready to be collected 2mora :clown:
so i will go pick it up and drop it off at my m8s for him to build it up ready for next sunday when he reckons he will have it back in. cams have come today as well so its coming all fine now

awesome

any vids of it? there is some vids from the fcs track time on you tube didnt get any from the 1/4 mile

what's the spec?

it was 172bhp before this work without nos
182 manifold, green filter, group n ecu, de cat, magnex full system exhaust, diy inlet manifold work,

with the nos it ran 240bhp but thats not going back in now cos iam going to do n/a now due to the cost of the nos refills plus it only ran around 1 sec faster with the nos on the 1/4 mile this year
13.2 with and 14.5 with out
track days are better as well better fun for your money

yes m8 that is the same renault tech. got some pics of the block and the head etc. not that impressed with the fly wheel not that much taken off when you look at k tec site may have to splash the cash on 1 of there lightened fly wheels

Hi mate, I was wondering how much the headwork is costing you? I am having a complete engine rebuild done at k-tec at the moment and wanting to get as much done as possible.

heres a pic of the pistons:clown:

then we started to fit the rest of the parts. it takes longer than you think to build it all up. bulit it up on the engine crane made it easier to move the engine round to fit belts and wiring harness
