I'm sure I've seen better, Lotus made this one a while back, but i can't remember the spec. It was featured in Evo - I'll try to dig it out later.

All depends on if you like it in black or with the race livery, as they are visually identical. The Red Bull car is considerably more trick, but started out as a factory road Exige.

You sure about that? The black car had extended track and wheelbase and was pretty much a one off, despite looking in proportion the whole shell was a one off iirc.

Yeah, sorry, thought it was a GT3 car. I presume that is the one produced for a rich Asian client, of which there are two. I've seen one of them only and it had a barely fettled Exige S engine in though.

That sounds familiar. If I can find the mag I'll scan the article and send it to you if you're interested in its build. I'm thinking the one in Evo had a V6 of some discription.

Yeah, they did a V6 one too... haven't heard anything of it since.

I'd rename the thread to possibly-the-world's-best-exige-upon-confirmation, but i can't be arsed...

Found the issue, the car was called the Lotus Sport Exige and it was made to comply with a number of different sets of rules and regulations.

Engine is a 3 litre, narrow angle V6 designed by GM for use in SR2 sports prototype racing and built by Swindon racing engines - 400bhp and 294lb ft of torque. Its mated to a Hewland six speed sequential transmission.

The car weighs in at 850kg, the wheelbase was lengthened by 200mm and the track widened by 100mm to accomodate the engine and box.

There's a pretty tasty parts list to go with it too.
