Worry free abs deactivation

  Mk2 Ph1 1.2 8v

rough translation, you get the general idea atleast.

CLIO RS (except Ragnotti) are equipped with an ABS and a distributor electronic of braking managed by the same unit. The fact of disconnecting the power station ABS (for example by removing the fuse of food of the latter) thus made lose the distributor of braking at the same time; at the time of a braking, the pistons of the back brakes receive the same pressure then as those of the front one, which can cause bloquages back like some stylistic devices. The method suggested here thus makes it possible to put at fault ABS without disconnecting it completely, in order to keep activates the function of distributor. It however is advised to take its precautions especially when one rolls without ABS, when one is accustomed to this "help with control". Some dishes on the tires are to be envisaged, since the assistance of braking and the travel of the pedal of CLIO RS are not very adapted to this control (except on Ragnotti which at summer concue at the base to function without ABS). 1. The idea is to disconnect one of the sensors ABS in order to put the power station at fault. It is that there are easily dismountable connections on the level of the rear wheel-axle unit. To lean under the car, left side, on the level of the aft wheel and to locate the two connectors leaving towards the sensors ABS the back. [ 1 ] 2. To delicately leave one the connectors of its housing. Attention with nothing abimer, all is out of plastic. [ 2 ] 3. To disconnect the connector while drawing on its two ends (attention not to be drawn directly on wire!). [ 3 ] The indicator "service" and the witness of ABS error are present at the dashboard as soon as the car is started. When one replugs the cable to find the function ABS, the witness in the dashboard does not disparait at once. It is necessary to reach a certain speed (of the order of about fifteen km/h) so that the defect is unobtrusive.

Ah! superb! thanks very much.

The previous method (removing the fuse) was pointless as the system split 50:50 which is very bad news if you want to live.

Seems that by putting one sensor into a "fault" mode stops the 50:50 split but deactivates the abs.

Im gonna go test it now.

i have my ABS on a switch. At lower speeds under 100 and in the dry when im testing my car against other on my test track abs isnt needed and the brakes are much better. over 100 the back end starts to spin as the bias is 50/50 and in the wet too its mad with a 50/ 50 bias!
the switch is hooked onto the internal fuse that runs to the abs computer

Ive tested the above mod and it works as it should!

no 50/50 split! wooo!

surely the brakes cant cope with the weight shift though, unlike a car with a brake bias valve, so really its still going to be easier to lock up than a car that doesnt come with abs?
