Would a Faulty downstream post cat lambda sensor make my car run like s**t?

As above, After assessing the car the only obvious fault I can find is the downstream lambda sensor is shagged! Would this cause the car to run badley? Anyone who has been following my fault progress will know this has occured since a cambelt and Auxillery belt change!

i thought the downstream lambda was only there to check on the cat.

if you've had poor performance since the cambelt change.. was it done correctly? they're not meant to be done with tippex, you need all the locking tools etc

Hey matteh, As I said earlier if you have been following my progress you would know everything has been done to the correct proceedure. This is basically my last resort. I have checked I am getting proper spark, the coil pack, de-phaser pulley, cam solenoids, had the cam timing checked by the pros ect. Again the only physical fault Ican find is the Downstream Lambda sensor!

I am fitting it tomorrow so Iwill let you know how I get on!
I am still not 100% that this is the problem why my car is running flat though!

Yes. I had one go on my 172 Cup. Loads of hesitation when under load etc

Bet you wish you kept the hassle free 197 ;)

Sounds about right gaz, Sounds like my problem may be resolved. This has been a b*****d. I do at the moment gaz, but I think it's just a temporary blip. :)

Touch wood though! This is the only problem I have had with Renaultsports and this is my 4th now!

Lambda sensor changed, and the car is still not running properly.
I didn't think it was going to work, just a bit of false hope. I am back to square one :(

The post cat sensor doesn't effect fueling at all as it can't read anything useful after the gasses have been through the cat. Its simply there to check that the gasses are being processed by the cat and that its working.

You can run them externally to the exhaust when fitting a decat to keep the error light off. Just need to make a shield of the sensor to screw into to keep water and s**t off it.

Cheers bmh.01!
I was just hoping!
Never mind back to the drawing board. It must be something to do with when the cambelt and Auxillery was changed. but what is beyond me!
Or the SMT has failed on the ECU!
