Would you buy alloys that...

Had slight blistering and kurb marks on them? I might be able to get some for quite cheap but they are in this condition. How much would refurbishing cost?

Yup!

I bought a set in pretty scratched condition i.e. probably half the wheel curbed on each wheel!

Went down Halfords and got the alloy repair kit they do (£25) and spent a couple of summer days doing them up. Basically you rub them down using emry paper, fill all the groves and chips in with super glue filler, rub it down again and then spray them. All 4 of mine turned out luvvly, only one is a bity cack now cos it was the first wheel i done and i didnt finish it properly.

BTW this was on phase 2 16v alloys so anything with more spokes might be a bit more difficult - ur looking at around £40 a wheel for a full refurb.

phase 2 valver alloys are what im looking at very nice wheels. im looking at bout 100 quid for em with tyres (duno what they are like). have only seen a picture of em tho as they are on the net

I think with original wheels its worthwhile getting them professionally done as they will make the car look the nutz. Kerbing can be done for about £25 a wheel (I got chips away to do mine) or a full refurb for ABOUT £50 a wheel. I think its worth it tho as good condition standard alloys on valvers are prolly quite rare!

probably not worth it TBH !! If you buy a set for £100 then spend say £120 on refurbs thats £220 !! Id sell you mine for £200 !! Then theres the tyres !! Buy a mint set with good tyres !!

are you selling wheels with tyres? these alloys on the net come with 195/50/15s. i do really want some good looking ones as my cars looks crap with the RT steelies on! but good alloys and tyres seperate is costly

All four tyres are mint Pirelli P600 and the wheels are MINT !! They came from an old man whos never curbed them !!
