Ive seen worse cars than that made to look brand new! Surely that isnt a write off! Maybe someone can buy it from the insurance company and get it fixed.

Is the chassic bent as well as thats an easy way to write them off.

Its unbelivable the prices especially if the airbag goes of there ~£200+ each and the computer is ~£250 I think.

Least they were insured I supposed. Shame though what are you going to get? Any idea of payout amounts I asume you can strip the car of skirts and they will still pay the same which will be worth a bit.

Thats what i was thinking, if you could do me a huge favour and ask them how much theyd want for it. I might be interested in buying it off you

nah, not nine grand , £900 for the drives seat + whatever a door and rear quater pannel respray and labour costs. id say itd probably come to £3-4k damage if you were using brand spankin new parts.

Im not too sure i want to buy it back to be honest, because its a 65hp diesel and very slow. But just for refernence how would i go about buying it back?

Dont take the piss but ive seen a volvo 850 T5 in a local garage for £2k and im very tempted. I rang Admiral up today for a quote on it, £1k tpft which considering im 19 with no no claims aint bad.

If i do buy the volvo im gonna have to go down to oxfam to buy a flatcap, green wellies and a pipe though

If it wasnt your fault you can get their insurance company to repair it back to standard - which has to be approved by you!!

when some guy drove into me. they said right we will pay you £300 for your fiesta... after talking to my soilcter he said tell them u want £1000 (and this is for a J-reg fiesta with 90K on the clock) or you want it repair to standard.

as it wasnt my faulty u can do this, and they have to sort out your claim within 50 days i think it is?!?

so eventually nearing the 40 day mark they settled on £950! was well chuffed.

forgot to tell u what condition my fiesta was in.... basically the whole back end gone. was told they would have ot get it on a jig and tractor pull and pull it out. then start work. alot of time and effort it would take, but u can still make the insurance company do that.

same here! i will buy it for a project car! well me old man is interested if either of u two dont want it!?

Tell your insurance you might want to buy it back, and ask them how much it would be, even if you dont wanna keep it, you could make a bit of money off it

thats rude!

i messed everything up on my old 306 wen a bunch of 17yr old girls drove into me front nearside alloy (ie- sus/alloy/surounding panels/steering rack) and my car was only insured as value at £2400 and they repaired it!

weird eh?

the insurance company will sell that on dirty deisal and it will be back on the road in no time. i would defo ask about buying it back. most of the time you can for a very good price.

That is crazy, writing it off for that! Mine didnt get written off, but then the airbag didnt go off I suppose?! :s

I can believe thats a write off. I had a similar impact 5 years ago in a 200 Vi. It didnt look to bad to me, but the recovery guy said they would write it off, and they did.

The car was worth about £6.5k, and although it didnt look too bad it was shaped like a Banana and needed a lot spending on it. Shame as the engine had just been serviced costing me a few hundered quid.

Sorry about the car though mate.

check PM - noo car if under 12 months!

whatever they offer - ask for more by finding highest priced similar cars on the net and attaching to letter

got a nice worded letter i did for me bro when his car was written off - could e-mail it ya. he got LOADS more DOSH.

There aving a laugh m8. what category write off did you get? I had a clio a while back and the smash was much worst than yours (rear quarter, arch, back bumper, door, alloy) and they wrote it off cause it was beyond economical repair , so I settled for the cash payout and brought the car for round £250, went to a good panel beater and he repaired it, sprayed it for Bargin £490! Good as new, you cant even tell, drived the same, + ££££s in my pocket!

black kro, email me that letter to mailto:Koppel_900@hotmail.com">Koppel_900@hotmail.com please.

Anyhow, what do ya reckon i should get next, suggestions please!
