X2 snapped front springs on 200

Hi just after a bit of advice really ...


How hard is it to change the two standard springs? Car has just been for a service and mechanic phoned me to say they have snapped on the front either side.also said they are only held together by plastic casing?? Have changed springs on a couple of cars previously but never worked on the Clio.
