Xbox 360 wont play Forza 4 (Pal 60 required)

Well Got my Xbox today switched it all on set it all up put in the Forza 4 disk and boom it says it needs to be in Pal 60. Not a problem I go to settings > video settings > Pal settings and select Pal 60. The TV then begins to make the picture bounce up and down? I am using the Composite cable that came with the console Ive tried it in front AV and through the scart converter and still no joy. Im sure my TV can support PAL 60 as when I go into the settings and I choose Colour System - PAL 60 it should work? The screen goes all greyscale and fuzzy and I choose PAL 60 on the Xbox again and it jumps up and down only greyscale and fuzzy now. Anyone any clue? The TV is probably a year old now maybe a year and a half and has 2 HD ports in the back as well. I have a little thing on the TV menus as well that tells me what input its getting through.

When I select PAL 60 on the xbox (from the standard Pal 50) it switches on the tv from saying PAL 50Hz to NTSC 4, 43 60Hz

Why NTSC when I chose Pal?

Im confused :(

Should only game with a HDMI, image will be very poor otherwise.

Amazon for about £5 for a 1 or 2 metre one.

Cheers guys, I actually have a HDMI coming possibly tomorrow I admit the screen is very fuzzy grrr lol but impatience is a virtue :p

Nicked me sisters boyfriends HD lead from his PS3 for tonight :)

Also depends on the native res of your display too surely?

Most people have a 1080p tv these days.

Yes it does - if the display can do 1080p (mine can't, hence 768) then I guess you're better with HDMI, although how many games are genuine 1080 output? It may be all of them nowadays, I really don't know.

All of them LOL

Really? True native 1080p output?

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion = 1024x600 (2xAA) - Same for GOTY Edition!
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim = 1280x720 (likely FXAA, less aggressive edge detection than PS3 iteration)
Forza Motorsport 2 = 1280x720 (2xAA in-game, 4xAA replay & vehicle select)
Forza Motorsport 3 = 1280x720 (2xAA in-game, 4xAA replay & vehicle select)
Forza Motorsport 4 = 1280x720 (4xAA in time trial, 2xAA otherwise, 4x in car viewing etc.)
Virtua Tennis 3 = 1920x1080 (2xAA)
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel = 1920x1080 for any HD output (including PC res), 1280x960 for 4:3 output, 1376x768 for 480p widescreen (no AA)
Crysis 2 = 1152x720 (TAA + edge post-process)
Batman: Arkham Asylum = 1280x720 (2xAA)
Batman: Arkham City = 1280x720 (no AA)

Boogie Bunnies = 1920x1080 (4xAA)

What that hell does all that mean O.O

Those stats (on a 4 year old post) are lovely - but put FM4 on a 46" or bigger TV in 720P - then switch it to 1080P and tell me there's no difference - because there really is!

The post was started 4 years ago, but it's constantly updated.

I'm sure in the example you gave, there is a difference and it does look better, but the fact remains that very few Xbox games are 1080p native. Your TV is upscalling.

There are very few modern day (decent-looking) console games that run at a native 1080p. The consoles just can't handle that resolution with the fidelity we expect in modern games.
