xbox gold memebership question

when i log onto my xbox i get an advert saying get gold for 7.50 (3 months) and an extra 160ms bonus points.Now £7.50 for gold is ok, but it says it will automatically renew my membership on 13/01/12 at £5.99 per month, is there anyway i can stop this happening as i dont want to over pay in the future, how easy it is to cancel the future payments as ive heard people have had problems in the past.

U can turn auto renewal off on the xbox live website.

Where? When I last checked you had to call them to do it and I couldn't be arsed.
