XBOX Live Gold Membership

Hello,

Got my XBOX 360 a while back, I have only just tried to get on Live due to wiring in the ethernet cable downstairs. I've signed up and now on silver membership. Shouldn't I have 2 months free Gold membership? If so how do I redeem it?

Want to get a feel for it before I commit payment.

You should have a flyer type thing in the box with the console, enter the code in your profile bit.

No, you get the free month by creating your gamertag, since you already have a gamertag you can't get a free month by creating one. And if you created your gamertag with a Gold account using a subscription card, you created an account that starts billing immediately.

You create a Silver account/gamertag and it says "are you sure you don't want a Gold account?" You choose to continue creating the Silver account and it says "okay...but here...have a month of Gold (to get you hooked)"

Basically it's from creating a Silver account....they would prefer you go Gold so they give you a free month of Gold on your Silver account to entice to to stay that way (and get hooked on the online multi-play stuff).

Apparently this should happen but I never got the option, can anyone confirm this?

If you create another gamertag profile it might give you a months trial.

Was thinking, haven't been on long so wouldn't loose much apart from my custom avatar lol!
