xbox media extender?

im having trouble linking my 360 to my vista pc, the xbox has a wireless n adaptop linked to my netgear router, then the pc is cat5'd to the netgear. the netgear has a seperate modem. now when i switch the xbox on i get a bubble on the pc to say that its found a extender but the xbox wont find the pc on its dashboard?
any suggestions?

Is media sharing enabled through Vista on the PC?

You need to download the extender for Vista/media centre etc.....

Then you set-up on the XBOX ..I cant remember the exact way to do it without powereing mine up.
