Xenon headlight out - anything else to check?

First off sorry for another xenon related thread I have already searched through a lot!

My drivers side xenon has gone and I have already tested and ruled out both bulbs, both ignitors and the fuses. I'm aware the next likely thing is the ballast, but i just wondered whether there is anything else to double check before I start taking bumpers off?

In answer to my own question, apparently the internal wiring in the headlight itself is toast. Arse.
