'Y' Reg 1.2 8v Hot/Warm Start Problem

Hi,

A friend has a year 2000 1.2 8V Clio (grande) difficult to start when the engine is hot or warm. Turns and fires but dies immediately. Usually does this 3 or 4 times and then runs ok so long as he blip the throttle and hold it at 1000 or so for a couple of seconds.

Ideas please??


my 1st guess is the Colltant Temp Sensor

Yeah Id guess at the sensor, my brothers car did the exact same thing until I changed the sensor (same engine). Let me know if you get stuck ill show you where it is and get you a part number. Does the temp gauge go up and down/seem unstable while driving?

Coolent temp sensor will have fialed.

If you could show me where the sensor is located and get me the part number that would be great.
