YET ANOTHER PHASE 1 TURNING INTO A TRACK CAR



Got this a couple of weeks ago after looking for a back up track car to my Mk2 Escort RS2000

Started gathering bits and bobs already hoping to get stuck in next week and make all the changes

Sold the F1's and bought these to replace for Track Use and some Turini's to use on the road as I want to Keep the car Road legal

Purchased some Seat Frames and Mounts for Bucket seats , already Have some Nice Wide Willans harness and Bucket seats ready to go , Next stage will be brakes and suspension after a Good strip down , Then will go of to a good friend to have a full multi point weld in cage fitted and polly windows

Cheers Guys , Just had Good Look around car and underneath , Its Running Sach shocks and springs on the rear and whiteline anti roll bar already nice result , also the last owner said he had another steering wheel for the car did I want it , I said if its in ya way why not , Its only a Deep Dish suede OMP race wheel with boss , This car Just gets better for what I need :)

That's a result then about the extras . Few quid saved .
The Mk2 looks awesome , how much power you running in that tool
 
Fresh on the dyno it's made 280bhp @7200 but note engine is brand new so held back on the revs a bit would make full power at about 8250 so should be good for 300bhp . But the torque is crazy 180lb @ only 3000rpm and 233@ 5250 . Could change the cams and make 315 ish but loose a bit of torque . Looking to have the engine built in the clio at some point pricing some bits up at mo love a turbo car but just can't get away from the noise ofn/a engine .If I do build one it will balls out can't do half measures ;)
 
Will Look for second had unit to Build , the Plan would be go Forged Long Rods Short Forged Pistons , I have a guy who is a genius at Headwork so head will go of to him , he will look and deside what cams to go for usually does his own grind , the ITB so would love to see a genuine 230BHP + if that's Possible which I think it must be with a 2.0 16v but depends how good the heads are on these for flow

Valve size is a restriction as is the shrouding of the valves. Other than that it's doable. You need to spec the itb's right though imo.
 
Cheers mate before I purchase ITB will ask the question for the correct size ect , Hope the head flows well enough ,

Took the F1's off today as there being collected tomorrow , Fitted the 2118 have some spaces for them but fit them later when suspension is being sorted

Fitted my wheels spacers and steering wheel today got a few more bits coming exhaust system and air filter , haven't started stripping the inside yet using as an everyday car as I lent mine out so having fun in this instead.
Need to replace my injectors Number 4 is playing up any advice is it worth fitting different ones if its getting mapped or stick to the standard set up
