yeh but the 1.2 engine doesnt really offer alot of performance tbh does it? the 1600 engines give a lot more power than 60bhp from the 1.2 8vs well im only saying that for myself id not have that kit on a 1.2 but on a 1.6 or 172 i would.

Yeh hopefully this friday, wouldnt be suprised its not, so aint gettin my hopes up!!

He seems to work on it every other week but when he does work not it he gets quite abit done, just dunt work on it very often!

f**kin hell, remember readin this thread ages ago, thought youd have it back by now. colour looks very very nice indeed. make sure you check all along the lines of te arches and skirts where its been blended in for bad filler work. look along your doors and quarter from behind the car, check its all nice n smooth, check the tailgate, there looked a damn lot of filler on it.

I wouldnt have minded the rear bumper filling in but it would take even longer, i was gona ask him to do that, paint inside of doors (plastic bit) and make me a fiber glass install but it wouild take 4 eva

I think what some of these other guys have said (give him a cheque then bounce it) is a v good idea, then maybe you could take it to a diff bodyshop to get the above done - if you pay him the remaining half, then no offence but you would be a complete mug.

You think a judge would find 7/8 months of work acceptable, all hed have to do is get another qualified bodyshop worker to give statement saying that the amount of time it took is bs, Im sure that wouldnt be too hard.

Ive paid him £1500, we agreed on £2200, tho we have gon further, then that price. He is now saying it will be no more than £3000

£3k = cost of 172 engine conversion

£2k = the extra needed to cover insurance over 2/3 years

£1k = Decent alloys/coilover kit + brake upgrades

Total £6k = one smart looking clio with good handling and enough power to keep a hell of a lot of cars at bay, especially with the fact that it would look like a measly 1.2

Lot of money to pay for a kit that IMO looks tacky, really isnt that rare and makes you look stupid! More people will be laughing rather then liking.

Wish i had that sort of money to waste, i mean spend. Id have a mint Mk2 Golf Gti by now, euro style and would have had 3 mint holidays abroad this year!
