  A special one.
Hi guys im after buying a active sub for the boot of the clio.

Now im only after something 8" or 10" as i dont want to loose my boot, it will also be easy to remove if i need the complete boot space.

No im after something of very good qualty and not something bought from Halfords.

Im also 38 so i just want something that sounds great rather than so loud that the next street will be able to hear.

Ta in advance.

I had one of these in my 106. It is surprisingly compact for what it is and the sound quality was pretty good.

Not thought about a budget, £300 be enough for something good?

That should be plenty for an active sub! TBH when it comes to picking subs, it's all down to your own preference so the only thing I would suggest is head to an audio specialist, have a listen to everything that's within budget and go from there. Even if you have to go to 2 or 3 different shops to find the right one.

Everyone's ears are different, it's better to find the sound/frequencies you want before buying....if that makes sense.

Cheers for that, just wanted to stay away from the crap brands.

The Fusion stuff looks good.

They only do a 10" active sub, ill have to find a shop that sells there stuff.

Maybe ill buy a box, sub and then an amp of my choice.

Scott iirc Chris Savage has had a box built that fits neatly into one side of the boot. It takes up hardly any room at all.

I'll ask him on FB and let you know mate.

My vibe active sub is really good, but even at only 10 inch, it takes up a fair amount of room and is bloody heavy.

Before that, I had a tiny 100w amp screwed to the back of a small box with a 10inch pioneer sub and it was perfect!

Another option could be some 6x9's on a stealth shelf? They're a bit pap for audio finesse but thump good and take up no room. I have them too! Lol

Look at the small blaupunkt ones dude, I think that's what you'll be looking for....

I'm looking at subs to fit under the driver's seat and give a little extra punch to my current system. It's not going to deliver the depth or punch of an enclosed 8 or 10 inch sub in the boot, but it's something I'm going to trial. If it's something you'd consider, Scott, here are a few examples:

Blaupunkt

Alpine

New Alpine

Rainbow

You're such a chav. Lol

As long as I can remove it easy enough for when I take tania and the boy's out then it should be ok.

Cheers mate.
