[Aug 1, 2015] ClioSport Saturday 2015 (Blyton, Gainsborough)

Can't echo enough what everyone else has said about the weekend. Was such a good turn out i had an awesome time and an itch to get out on track now! We stayed from Friday to the Sunday and made a weekend out of it. Everyone was friendly and chatty, had a few chats with @Sunglasses_Ron, tried to find you Sunday morning to say bye but didn't manage to find you before we were off. Nothing bad to say about the weekend at all, the go karting could have done with being open a little longer, 2pm was pretty early i thought. I know they were all asked but the traders should make an appearance they would make some money out of it im sure!

If next years happened like this years did i'm sure plenty of people would be happy!

LOL, I was the one sitting next to you for a while late on the Saturday night by the fires. Pretty sure that was the point where your Mrs was trying to explain a story about something, but all we got from it was that she was driving somewhere. Absolute tears at that!

Buckfast man would be one of Adams friends, as would the one being sick lol! Pretty sure they brought down a whole crate of the stuff, and went home with very few bottles...

Just got some ideas brewing for next years event.
Would love to see if we could smash the fund raising tally from this year.

One thing I was disappointed with, I didn't see a single MK1 Clio! I really wanted to have a good look round a Williams.
If there was on there, and I was just being blind I apologize!

The fact I was hanging out of my arse till Monday would suggest it was a good laugh. Although next year, we all need to find where JP is sleeping and go as far away as possible!!! [emoji38]

The feedback from both Blyton and Javelin has been amazing. They were impressed by how well organised the event was and Blyton were very happy at the way the site was left on the Sunday when we left.

From what you've all told us it was successful weekend that was enjoyed by every single person that attended.

Planning for next year is already well under way and we hope to see even more members in attendance in 2016. We are always looking for ways to improve and we hope that CSS16 will be as good, if not better than this year.

Thanks everyone who helped to make it an incredible weekend.

Trade village.

Unfortunately in 5 years of trying, most traders just don't want to come. We've tried everything including basically paying them to come. For a lot of traders its difficult and time consuming for them to bring stock / examples of their work across the country and maybe close their normal business for the day for a few sales at the show. To me it's more about brand awareness to a very targeted gathering of people than direct sales on the day.

All I can suggest is ask them why they don't come and if they get enough people asking they might do next year.

I agree, if it is a garage, then a day's labour/work far outweighs coming for a jolly. If you bring kit...is that a guarantee you will bring enough of whatever sells? Yes, you can sell your wares...but imagine Fish Brothers bringing enough parts for all people and carry them. It would be a potential logistic nightmare.

I see, would you mind if members asked around to see if any businesses would like to come and advertise/sell/set up a stand next year?

Not at all!

its not easy though. I was let down by a dent man this year even after they confirmed they'd be coming a few weeks before.

But if you can get anyone interested we are more than happy with that!

Unfortunately I had a falling out with my Bro who was the Dent man at 2013 CSS.
However we have not spoke since May. So asking him to come to CSS would have been a bit akward.

Any ideas on where it will be held next year? Or are you thinking Blyton again?

Blyton will get first refusal I think, probably find out more when available dates come out towards the end of the year.
Okey dokey! Thanks for the reply mate. I'm not sure blyton appeals to me, but I'd hazard a guess that a lot of it will come down to costs as well as availability.
If it is at blyton, I'll definitely give it some real consideration for 2016 though.
