Ticking noise from rear on 172

First thought was it might be a wheel bearing but it sounds different as this is not a drone or a whining noise coming from the rear passenger side. It does get a bit faster when you drive faster. It only just come on just a couple days ago hadn't got any better or worse.
Any other possibility it could be?

Rear silencer hanger collapsed?
Probably has,even if it`s not the cause.

Yeah it has collapsed like for a fair few weeks. I've got a new upgraded Powerflex rubber one but it need to be fitted to the hanger. I haven't got a spare hanger. My normal mechanic doesn't want to fit it I think unless it's in the hanger all ready to fit. I never noticed this sound before that's all

Just take the wheel off and have a look. Probably a stone in the tyre or maybe something catching the disk.

Jack it up and spin the wheel, see if you can hear anything

Was a cracked rear disc in the end
