My Clio 182 Cup Story

Car  RS200
Hi all, thought I would start a Thread to keep all the pics in one place.

After owning various cars over the years including some French (mainly Peugeots) & Jap cars I thought it was time to maybe try the little Clio out. I first looked at one of these in 2004 when I had a 106 GTI. Drove the Clio at the time and loved it but a change in direction as I bought my first house.

Anyways here's a bit of progress.

Bought the car on 19/09/2018 from a friend of a friend so to speak. I viewed the car and it seemed to be solid enough with no rust issues on the bodywork. Was a bit rough in other areas but nothing some TLC wouldn't sort out.

Pic (IMG_4956) of the car on the car on the previous owners drive.

Gave the battered bonnet catch a scrub up and repaint.

Then started on the strut tops and bonnet.

Next on the list is to get the intake painted and a few blingy bits etc.

Next on the list was to get the tired brake callipers a fresh lick of paint.

I removed the old RB paint and put a fresh coat of red to sit under the white Sparco terra wheels.

Made a start on a few subtle touches to the exterior so added my private plate and some carbon wrap that I had in the garage. Not bad for a very first attempt.

Wind deflectors also fitted.

Onto the next stage which was to get the engine running sweet to suit the K&N Gen 2 and full Miltek decat.

Have to say even for a generic map it has transformed the car and the way the power is delivered through the rev range.

Now time to start the interior.

I had a conversation with a kid on eBay who had one listed as mint............. We all know eBay mint sometimes.

Anyway I bit the bullet and agreed a price and the kid delivered to my door all the way from Crewe.

Have to say I was very surprised at the condition of the seats. Practically new.

Made a start and fitted the rears.

Also added a little bit of carbon touch to the interior.

Stereo fitted.

Cheers.

Yeah I like to get things done.

Getting a power run next week to see what she is running.

Paintwork and dent removal is the next big job.

You getting the power run done at ren-sport?

No bud. I’m going to Evotune which is two mins from me. Jamie Lumley is a top tuner in the Jap world and maintained my old Evo 6 Tommi Makinen. Using his rolling road set up.

Gave the fog covers a carbon wrap. Tidied up the battered plastic. They will be getting painted gloss back when I gat the bumpers repainted so will do for now.

Sparco wheels look awesome on this.

I was in the same position on what colour to do the calipers too. I think it's a harder choice with the white wheels being vibrant. If they was silver or anthracite, then you could go subtle but I think a bold colour suits them behind the white wheels.

I "think" I might have a spare hazard button. Will check later on.

Seats look in great condition too!

Cheers pal. Yeah I agree the white/red goes really well.

Seats are like new. I was pleasantly surprised when they turned up.

Thanks for the comments bud and if you have a switch I’ll take it mate.

Thanks.
