It wasn't slow!
What has been done to it?

It felt a bit lacking on the straights but it is only a 1149cc. Few bits just bolt ons, air filter, returned fuel system, 172 injectors, decat and exhaust. Mapped by Chris at efiparts. soft wolowy AP coilovers and pug brakes on 172 disks. All on road brake pads and tires.

It wasnt the bends where he was fast. It was the stopping zones. I could do the bends with him.

Mitex 1155. Pedal either felt dead as in no slowing or was verging on locking all 4 and the car wasnt underneath me. I had to feather early.

I am suspecting its geometry based as when another passenger was with me I could brake hard and in a straight line.
Too much negative camber maybe, where the contact patch is reduced to the insides. The additional weight will have increased the patch maybe, dunno strange one. I found the M1155 quite consistent in the Clio but totally different cars.

Thanks to all who turned out. You lot really make the festival.

As has been said, his has been the best year yet. Turn out was stronger, trader stands were bigger, more people entered the show and shine, the track was constantly heaving, were really going from strength each year.

It’s always good to catch up with people and still be putting faces to names after so many years

Roll on next time!

Good crack, see ya again next year!

It took me quite a while on Sunday morning to work out why I don’t remember a whole lot of Saturday night.

Then I remembered you didn’t want your bottle of cider! Lol

Was brilliant catching up dude, cheers for the passenger rides too :D

I was well impressed with the Twiglet, held it's own just fine. You gave the MR2 more of a scrap than most Clio's out there to be fair.

With you on the contact patches. I have some settings to try. It just a pain with the exige as its shims here and there to change some bits and then the usual method on others. Its also a pain taking it to track to verify!

It was only a full 360 rotation.

I did what any good racedriver would do after a 360 spin , checked my tyre pressures and went for a courtesy wipe at the bogs after.

Got back on it again though and no more spins.

I was quite chuffed with myself. Kept the engine running and just pulled away hoping noone had noticed. Eldest son told my 1/2 of Yorkshire saw it.
Aye I was trying to push @benji93 out of the way through port froid, come round and just saw you doing a wild 360. I said to whoever was in the passenger seat of mine that you f**king held it well, I bet there was a release of brown a adrenaline!!?

@Filters even tried copying you on jochen and he nearly got wiped out by @Adeyspec and me because the marshall was slow to react??

Luckily I only had one point where I was scraping linen when @Don was passenger, first lap and I tried going for the heroic give it beans and overcooked it on the first corner?‍♂️? That being said the tyres got stupid warm, stupid quick and went up to 40 psi from about 25 cold?

ha, nah I'm cheap, I only replace when I get the miles out them. old t1rs had life so stayed on the back and put the newer tr1 on the front ? deadly in the morning on a damp greasy track mind.....

Oh is that your red twingo? Looked interesting that, what's in it? Do like the twingos

133 is a good car but so underpowered tbh. @bloke built a turbo one mind.... the gt i have is basically a low spec clio front and rear so can be upgraded in all the same way. Ill probably end up fitting the 172 suspension to it soon but mapped up its basically 150/150 bhp/lbft. I replaced my last 182 with this as a commuter and it still returns 45/47mpg average

The twingo is pretty epic, @Adeyspec let me and the mrs take it out, goes well, handles well. Feels like an old gt turbo, with better handling, better tyres and brakes and it would be flying

Oh right, it's a low boost turbo?

@blokes? not sure how much boost he ran on the 133. My Gt comes from factory with a turbo, 99bhp though (or 101bhp depending on where you look)

Oh right, the GT is a turbo? Sounds a great little daily then! off to ebay i go ha. What are they like on a motorway run?

Yep gt is a factory turbo car, revs are circa 3500rpm for 70mph its a little stung out but a diesel 5th gear can be swapped in, i uses mine 50 miles a day mainly on the motorway, best ive seen from a tank is 53mpg (y) standard seats are s**t and like sitting on a park bench ?

its a gt turbo, sometimes listed as a 1.1 turbo, 1.2 turbo, tce turbo and a few other things

I didn’t try anything ?
The diff tried parting ways with the box and locked the front left ??‍♂️?

Racing driver excuses galore ??

I think everything on your car tried parting ways at one point in the day?

What was it you said "Quickest N/A round the track"??? That's only if it makes it round there???

Anyone log any lap times from the day? Managed a 1:14.5 on my 2nd session around 10:30am when it was still a little damp on NS2R 180's. Just didn't get the room on track in the PM on my AR1's to set a hot lap but reckon there'd be a few seconds to gain.

Given up with lap timer things after oulton in March. It's a load of w**k, this Harry's thing.

Although it does say I did oulton in 11 seconds at 851mph which mustn't, be too far off the pace.d0740ae3b3795f2f13fc21f75e1ea93e.jpg

I've just been looking at the csf pictures thread and the display of raffle prizes is huge. The team did a great job of getting through it quickly with minimal errors and we raised a fantastic total for a charity that although their field of expertise has become quite prominent the last few years they are still just a small outfit. Bravo cliosport ?.
