Chris’s 182 Trophy #151

So after a few months of looking at everything from a 2k Saab to a 20k 996 C4S I ended up jumping on the Trophy bandwagon.

Picked it up yesterday morning & headed back up North, rude not to have a quick stop off at Caffeine & Machine on the way back.

Got a few bits & pieces with the car so thought I’d start straight away with the easy stuff

Replacement gear knob cap makes such a big difference.

Next on the hit list will be the heater panel.

Recaro’s are mint so will be keeping them that way.

Never seen an OEM steering wheel in as good condition as this. Have got 2 x spare so will be getting one re trimmed at some point.

Great purchase! Any other plans?

Just keep it as standard as possible & enjoy.

Currently has a milltek exhaust which is on the loud side, sounds nice but might switch it back to OEM because I’m an old fart!

What did you pay for it if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been looking at a few higher mileage ones which need some TLC so still unsure whether to go for a pristine version or stick a few quid into one.

More than any sane person would spend on a 14 year old Clio [emoji6]

I’ve never understood the age thing tbh. If somebody’s prepared to pay good money for something then that’s just the market doing its thing. It’s all good for us Clio owners [emoji16]

Turns out my current milltek exhaust is non resonated version & is abit loud for my liking.

I have bought a resonated central section to fit at some point in the near future.

God I must be getting old [emoji23][emoji23]

I reckon around £8k. Looks mint and to have this and A V6 makes me very jealous. Enjoy

I'll hopefully be in a trophy in the coming months.

Come the summer, what keys will you be grabbing? The V6 or trophy's?

Think it’s the right time to get one before the prices go too silly.

Trophy will be more of a daily driver so V6 will be used for weekend fun / shows.

Milltek resonated central section, with it being a daily I thought I’d have something a little less antisocial [emoji23]

Will probably sell non res section if anyone is interested, only done about 3k miles.

Glad you’ve got a topic going Chris - looks a good’un and a wise decision mate :)
And welcome to the V6 and Trophy owners club - besides us 2 is there anyone else you know of?

How can that heater panel be so battered and the wheel and seats so nice?!

I have no idea [emoji23]

Assume because it’s been garaged most of its life & previous owner had reflective foam mat on windscreen to block out the sun.

Even the one on my V6 was very melted in comparison to this one.

Discovered my interior light wasn’t working today.

Bit of a faff getting it apart but managed it in the end.

Off to Halfords for a bulb in the morning.

Congratulations on the purchase!

Have you got a link to that gear knob cap by any chance? I bought one of the eBay ones, but it was chrome when it turned up, so would like a Matt silver one like yours.

Cheers

Not too sure to be honest. Came with the car when I bought it.

Just done a quick search on eBay & found this one

Car is booked in with Birchdown for a few bits next week.

Rear discs & pads
Swap central exhaust section for resonated pipe.
Swap heater control panel. (Was going to do it myself but heard it’s a right ballache)

Also thinking about upgrading the rear bench seat to standard 182 rear seats.

Also treated her to a set of pilot sport 3’s and some cup shocks for Valentines Day.

Next on the list will be Sachs rebuild.
Turning out to be abit more of a project than anticipated [emoji23]

Yeah mate. They have been doing work on my RS’s for years, just a shame they aren’t 20 miles closer.

100% recommended! Their work & customer care / service is top notch.

Sachs are off the trophy. Cup shocks on in their place for now.
