Gearnob removal / fitting

  clio 172
I see the method appears to be to cut the original nob off !

What can be fitted in place of the original ?

Ive seen some quaife style on ebay , not sure if these fit ?

Probably going to fit pure motorsport on my track car but looking for something for my road car

This is where it goes. Get under the car and you’ll see it. Just make sure the circlip goes back in properly or it’ll fall out and you’ll lose all gears.

When I did mine It didnt take much force to twist it off once I had ripped the leather around it, thought there must be a way to salvage them like putting some drops of acetone or the likes to loosen up the glue.

I wrapped mine in a tea towel, gave it a hard twist and the glue snapped (I did have a hacksaw ready to go but was lucky not to use it).

I was installing a scenic shifter (+Stiff Shift) so cut some grooves into the gearstick rod with a hacksaw and epoxy'd a black Quaife knob on top (I think I got mine from Motamec), no complaints I love it.
