The dealer one.

They came in with a decent part ex deal too, so pretty happy.
I was almist tempted with that one, but put off by their attitude / reviews! Plenty of pics when you get it please! When do you plan to get it?

I posted last week about how hard work they were to talk to, but seeing a couple of rougher ones this weekend just made me pay the extra and go for this.

I ended up dealing with them via email as it was far easier to get straight answers that way, then when I called to do the final deal and put the money down their attitude changed completely to being friendly and helpful. Maybe they thought I was a time wasting northerner until that point haha

Won't be able to collect until a week on Saturday unfortunately, then I'm going to leave it in an airport car park for two weeks, so expect many photos at the end of Feb, probably with loads of dings in it :ROFLMAO:

Ha, well plenty of pics when you can then please. If you want to avoid car park dings, feel free to leave it with me for a couple of weeks, I'll look after it! 😄

Even low mile FN2’s are getting dear. I got my Mrs an fn2 type r and she loves it (never had a sporty car before). It’s a nice car and has a huge load Carry with the seats down in the back.

I understand why you feel like that, I sold my 200 after only a year. But I can’t put my finger on why.
The mk3 is the better road car and it’s an even better track car, but I think they just lack the fizz you get with the mk2’s.
I swopped your 200 for a V6 Clio - Literally almost a direct swop.

I dont sell clios any more - but actually going to look at buying one back tomorrow

Saw you post about it on facebook in a comment, looks spot on, I’d swap to stock suspension personally and then it’s perfect!

MOT passed on the AG yesterday, collecting this Saturday all being well.

A bit annoying that it got a couple of advisories on the MOT, they have sorted the bulbs now but it would have been nice to have a clean MOT.

I can't be the only person who gets fussy about clean MOTs, advisories like this makes me think people just don't care :(

Most people probably don't care, I would though.

One of my advisories was a slightly damaged tyre valve. Taking into consideration with give them most of our mot's he's taking the bloody piss/thorough mot tester.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t I guess.

I tend to think the way some testers are is due to bad experience with past tests/customers. Things like the valve stem, you see it you advise it, simple as that. You don’t advise it and the customer’s on the phone when they have a tyre changed telling you Dave at ATS said it was dangerous.

You can’t really complain about the advisories given in this case, if anything maybe direct the annoyance toward the trader who presented it to test if it was things they could have easily checked and you are ocd about it.

I tend to think MOT history with no advisories looks worse honestly, makes me initially wonder if it’s legit.

I’ve heard it all before testing but I just go with what I think is right and my conscience is clear. I had someone irate the other day and saying he’d never come back as I’d failed his (shitty) horsebox for having no working brakes on one side at rear! Apparently it “shouldn’t have failed as he’s hardly used it since it passed last year”

Not complaining about the tester at all, it's the trader that should have put a bit more effort in pre mot imo. But I guess most customers wouldn't care, and the fact it's been fixed afterwards is good still.

Personally I don't mind stuff like play in bushes or even a dodgy valve, but when it's stuff any idiot can check like tyres and bulbs then I just think that person doesn't give a s**t about the car.

Collected the clio this morning.

It's not perfect, a few issues I want to sort, including a couple of really annoying paint issues and cloudy headlights, but compared to the others I saw it's far better. Lighter clutch, GB is lovely, power seems good and everything works.

Already had some lads in an Ibiza want a race, I think they were shocked to see my 60 year old uncle in the driver's seat when they pulled along side 😂

Love a good petrol station pic! Looks nice there. What are the paintwork issues?

Already having a nightmare, the wipers were fine when we picked it up, but they got progressively worse as we got home, until they stopped.

The linkage was pretty seized, got home with some improvised rainx. Managed to remove the linkage, dismantle, clean, regrease and reassemble this evening but the motor isn't working either, guessing we blew it up on the way up. I'm getting control signals on the connector so pretty sure it's the motor that's gone.

The next challenge is getting a motor tomorrow, don't want a crap one from euros that's overpriced tbh!

Second hand one.

Make sure scuttle panel all dry
Yeh, I need the car back functioning tomorrow really, so will just have to overpay I think. Put some wanted threads on the groups, will stick one on here too.

Given it all a really good clean under there too, it wasn't really that bad at all either, the car hasn't really been used since lockdown which has contributed to the issue I think.

@jenic I had the same issue as you but straight to the scrap yard and £20 motor later it was fine.

I have pulled out my rubber bungs that get blocked as they are just useless.

Every year I now strip down the linkage and re-grease the small horse show clips and things
