Ok, Cheers SharpyClio do you know where they are so I can point the mechanic in the right direction!Earth I would guess, there are two straps that need to be removed to move the box and its easy to refit them wrong or forget.
Not payed him yet! at this fackin rate he'll be paying me!!How much did you pay him?
Replace the ECU and UCH.Update.
Mechanic has tried all the above and more, he's a decent guy been really good but this has him beaten, is there anything ANYTHING that I can try??
Its doing my head in tbh now, hes had it a week!
Out of interest, any idea why that would fail in this instance? running out of ideas so willing to give it a go!Replace the ECU and UCH.
I have one for sale.
He is adamant he has, checked it twice over he tells me!Get him to check this one again. I would put money he's not looked properly.
They can just fail and it could be unrelated to the work done.Out of interest, any idea why that would fail in this instance? running out of ideas so willing to give it a go!
Shows no codes apparently, not sure what he uses but it wont be a clip. What diagnostic tool has he got? Does it have any codes?
Said hes checked that, even replaced the crank sensor! He should have been checking the basics like TDC/crankshaft sensor (thats the sensor on the fly wheel). There are quite a few little things that can cause this.
Stupidly thought swapping a clutch over will be fine for someone who basically specialises in them, in hindsight and all that 😢He's obviously done/not done something when the box has been off.
Going to be hard to fix over the internet if he's said he's checked everything.
How come you didn't go to Birchdown like you normally do?
I've tried brand new batteries in both fobs but no nothing. When my key was dying, I used to have issues starting the car unless I held down the button on the fob while starting the ignition. Sounds a bit wonky but it helped me start it for about 8 months until the key finally died and I had to go to Renault for a new one.
Battery is currently charging off the car.Can try leaving the battery disconnected for a while
It’s not the batteries that were the issue, it’s the key itself. See if my method works, it’s easy enough to try. Otherwise it’s off to Renault for a new key, hopefully they still make them.I've tried brand new batteries in both fobs but no nothing.
He's tried that with what I sent over though. It's more like uch, ecu and decoder ring at this point but who knows. It’s not the batteries that were the issue, it’s the key itself. Well it didn't drive in but the car started fine but knowing my luck it will be that.Be absolute s**t luck if it drove in there for a clutch and now suddenly the uch/key has given up.
