Total Respray

Hello guys and girls!
My odyssey blue phase 1 is really worn out, and I got a respray offer for 1700euros for the same and 2000euros for any other colour, exept the engine bay.
I like the odyssey very much when super clean but gets dirty realy easy.
Any suggestions??

LY doesn't suit the other cars.

Some nice modern metallic green.

A mate of mine painted his in a Porsche green, it looks the absolute dogs danglies, and it makes me want to do mine. Another of my mates had his painted in fridge/freezer white, which looked good too

Go mental, paint it rubystone red

It's a metallic one, I can't remember the name of it. It looks wicked though

I guess yellow is a secret passion… also for me I think.
Why would you suggest original colour?

brakes and suspension aside, I generally like my car to be as original as possible

Keep it original colour unless taking the engine out to do the bay and doors off etc. Always looks poor with different coloured engine bay and any missed bits.

Agree with that, if its odyssey already, keep it that colour imo

Varies massively on the extent of the work and who you go to. And their quality.

I’ve seen some really good quality ‘cheap’ sprays and some very expensive bang average ones. Etc

My mate paints concourse cars and did my other mates gt3. Which was a lot of work and included ppf (not full car) ceramic and having the wheels done for £6,500.00 cash and it’s better than new.

Someone else I know paid 11k for less work from another well known shop and it’s no better quality tbh.

I’m not exactly ‘in the loop’ but recently had the golf done at a different place as my mate was flat out and that was 300/350 a panel.

A place near me that only really does high end stuff quoted me £3-4000 on the S1 (was more curiosity than anything). They’re painting my bike in a few months for £700.

I paid £1500 4 years ago, real flawless looking job but 4 years later some issues started appearing!

We start at 7k really as we don't do blow overs so to speak. I suppose if it was glass in fresh coat of paint on a 3 door clio you would come in cheaper. The difference with us is, we don't really change our standard of how it's done. So whether the guy with a 182 wants a repaint and a guy with a 911 wants a repaint, part from size and some stripping both jobs are the same.

We also suffer the same problem with restoration. I can have a guy bring a classic Ferrari or similar to us and also a guy brought us a yellow MGZR. Our process is actually the same, the way we prime and flatten etc. That where we find others can change their methods depending on the car.

Sounds silly maybe but it's just what happens.

The paint & materials alone to do a full respray from bare metal on my Williams cost around £1,200 back in 2018.
The same guy that painted it recently did another one and the same amount of paint & materials cost £2,300

For the prices you've been quoted, don't expect it to be a nice & pristine job

I had a wrap once and wasn't really a fan, but that was a few years ago now so maybe the technology and quality has moved on.

Still can't believe I got a complete colour change and various repairs on my car for £550 lol.

Always seems mental to me that you have all the colours in the world for a respray and you'd stick to ones renault offered from factory.

I think LY is the best Renault colour.

On principle though, Id keep it factory colour.
