Has anyone tried the Sony WH-1000XM6?

I've had my XM4s for a couple of years now and they are insanely good, be interested to know if the XM6 improves at all in comparison.

From what I've read... very minimal improvements, probably not worth the upgrade, unless your battery life has majorly deteriorated or something (I have the XM4 as well)

Battery life is still decent considering they get used everyday.

Battery life is still decent considering they get used everyday.

Back to headphones. I think the Nothing ones are nice but maybe a bit style over substance...
I regularly use a pair of basic wireless overears at work to block out the morons when doing complex things. I'm easily distracted/annoyed.
The ones I'm using are fine, but have no noise cancelling. A colleague let me use his Airpod Maxes, and I tried some top end headphones in Richer Sounds a few weeks ago, and was seriously impressed with the B&W PX7 S3. But I should be at the price of them.
Is there really that much of a difference between something around the £100 mark and something for £400? Or are we talking longevity and materials and brand prestige?
Music I'm listening to is mainly death metal and any headphones too bassy just turn into a muddy mess. I did try some Focal Bathys that were £600 but the instrument separation was a bit too much and it sounded weird.
Also, there is a bit of a glass ceiling of quality that's limited by a iPhone's wireless transmitter, and the recording quality of the bands I listen to, so not sure if I'd be paying extra for something I wouldn't get the benefit of...

If you get the Sony wh-1000xm4, you won’t be disappointed. £200 at the moment?

They’ve made newer versions, but they’re still brilliant, great sound quality and noice cancelling.

You’re getting marginal gains by spending loads more.

(Get them on Amazon and just send them back if you’re dissatisfied)

Id buy my Bose Quiet Comforts all over again, without hesitation.

To say ive abused them, is probably an understatement. They came out the box, over 2 years ago now, did a 16 hour flight to Japan and 16 hours back. Ive worn them every morning for an hour since. I use them to do DIY in. They saved my ear from a flying piece of cutting disk. Ive sanded in them. I use them in the gym every time I go.

The noise cancelling is amazing. The sound is brilliant, id never want more. Phonecalls are great using them. Battery life is frankly nuts.

I genuinely cannot begin to rate them highly enough.

The only issue I have with them at the moment is the ear pads are beginning to go. £25 on amazon sees them replaced with genuine items.
