Induction kit advise

  White Evo V
Can anybody give me some advise on which induction kit to buy?
Iv been looking at:
pipercross viper, green cotton, k&n typhoon, k&n 57i, and those bmc carbon kits.

Which gives the best performance and wont stuff my engine?

  Clio 182
OK this is my personal oppinion, I have an 05 182 clio and sent back my Pipercross Viper induction kit as the 182 engine bay is very tight and I dont feel there is anywhere suitable to run the cold air feed without taking the car to pieces or sacrificing the front fog lamp. I found the kit lost me power and the car became very sluggish with rol on throttle at 70mph. As soon as I put the standard airbox back on the car went like a rocket. If you want noise get yourself a decent exhaust, if you are really after a cheap power gain go for a panel filter.

Of course I am sure other people will come along shortly with their oppinions too! If you do a search on the forum I am sure people have spoken about the Carbon fibre BMC/ITG filters.

i have a hill power kit which i think is pretty good but if i had the money would have an ITG maxogen

^ whats it sound like, certainly looks one of the best finished kits anywhere ive seen, whats throttle response like, any other mods or a remap too
cheers

Was gonna invest in the Maxogen. Looks the dogs! However, I'm gonna get a new exhaust from Pro Speed in Cardiff and I've already fitted an ITG filter. Pleased with it. Couldn't justify the £380 spend on the Maxogen. Probably the best Induction Kit availabkle for the Clio tho as I understand it. I'm sure someone will come along in a minute to correct me tho.;)

i recently bought a k&n induction kit 57i for my 182 it was fine easy to install. i got it from demon tweeks and i asked about every filter in there book. the boy i spoke to recommened me the k&n over the rest of them. he told me about the filters

carbon fiber bmc he didnt recommed because the brackets that come with are crap and you could make better ones and plus the battery has to be shifted into boot because of the size of it

the green cotton he said that the mounting brackets are rubbish is well you can make better ones yourself

the pipercross was easy to fit as well as the k&n

my car feels quicker and doesnt seem to lack in power at any speed but watch out for the fuel as i was getting roughly 250 miles to a tank taking easy and so far ive got 100 miles to half a tank and that is taking it easy so be prepared lol
hope this helps any quieries i would demon tweeks they seemed to be helpful

^ post #29 on page 3, big heatshield with hillpower on it, go to www.hillpower.co.uk but your best off giving Nick at Hillpower a ring for latest price, I think you can choose colour of the inlet elbow too
