How can I stop my brake fluid leaking when I remove the hose?

  Valver
Need to remove the braided hose from the pipe to add a spring clip in which I broke, but obviously when I take it off its going to piss fluid out everywhere! Anything I can do to stop the fluid coming out, havent really got anything to bung it with :(

try a pair of mole grips and a cloth to protect the line, this worked for me but i dnt know if braided lines will squash!

how will this stop fluid from gushing out - surely it will force more out.

brake fluid is wonderful stuff... mines blue :D

Wouldn't that mean more fluid coming out :S

I've got to undo the braided hose to pipe union nut completely, put a metal bit between then screw it up again, hopefully won't be on too tight as I only undid it last week but don't fancy having brake fluid pissing everywhere!

would you expect to undo a waterpipe without water coming out even if you had turned the stoptap off?

never gonna happen mate, just catch the fluid in a jam jar or whatever then you have to re-bleed the system i'm afraid

^^ no but if i turn the valve off im not gonna have my whole tank come out if I run into problems!

Haynes (cue laughter) says something about screwing the cap down on PVC to create a vacuum but I can't see that working... guess I'll just have to work fast :(

the fluid would not come out it creates a
Vacuum it works there is a renault tool to do it. if you clamp pipes they split. i tiny amount come out at first but only a tea spoon.when u reconnect the pipe remove the tool. leave the nipple half way
Unscrewed untill the fluid starts to drip out the the pipe has bled
