Plugs and Cam Belt Change

I've got 52,000 miles on my 172 when should i change them, i have been told to go for Renault plugs is that true is it the same for the cam belt?

Nothing wrong with the OEM stuff mate. Shop around and get a quote though as some places charge through the roof. You definately want to get it done before 72k though bud.

Am i to replace the belt on its own or would it be better to buy a belt kit and change the whole lot how about 'GATES' brand they make good belts?

Do the whole kit mate, a tensioner went on mine and bearings shot in the pulley @ 33k

I had only 51000 on mine when the belt went, bent 8 valves, get it done as soon as you have the funds, was 5 year old like, so it was my fault,.....

How much should i be looking to pay for the job not going through the dealer though?

5.1 hours labour so that times what the normal price per hour they charge.

ALways chnage the tensioners there usless all Renault kits include them none Renault stuff often doesn't as its cheap and usless.
