The 7950GX2 still appears to be only using one card under Vista, even with the very latest drivers. So, it's time to upgrade. What you guys say is the best option. 1x 8800GTX or 2x 8800GTS? It seems cost effective to go GS in SLi, but I'm also very aware that the next round of cards are due very soon. I'm unsure what to do :S

Fark! What a total noob. I hadn't ever noticed that the drivers have a setting to enable SLi. I had vever had to do this under my olde XP drivers. I've now enabled SLi and my trusty old 7950GX2 is now performing back to its old standards again :approve:

Certainly good enough for me to wait for the 8900 series or see how the R600 performs. I'm well chuffed. Off to have a quick blast on STALKER

To be fair to me, I'm sure the older driver did not have the SLi option. That's my excuse anyway!

Oh and STALKER now runs how I expected it to in 1st place FFS! Time to get that Vista patch and then start playing it.

Well a single 8800GTX should own my 7950GX2 so it's an option. I'm not paying £100+ for the Ultra when I could probably clock the GTX to similar speeds anyway.

I'm just getting pissed. Any artifacting issues I've ever had across 3 PCs have always been on Nvidia drivers. My 9800Pro never had a single issue.

Cheers mate but I will probably go single 8800GTX now. SLi is great but too hazardous. Even the 7950GX2 has proven to be an SLi hickup. A Single 8800GTX will own the GX2 anyway, and will blow 7900 SLi out of the water

Just built a system and bought a 8800GTX and its unreal!! frame rates are just astonishing!!

and never had a problem with Vista
