Cup racer tyre size...

  M2 Competition
Anyone know what size tyres the last generation cup racers ran?

And what the best size is to run on a cup, with 15x7 wheels (et38)?

On 195/50's at the moment but on 6" wide rims, getting a set of 7's, will i be able to run 205/50's ok? Is the extra 10mm worth the huge price increase?

Car is very low on coilovers, and the tyres will be for track use, and b road blasting. Like the look of the paradas, and have heard good things about them (but can only find them in 195 :dapprove: )

Any other recommendations?

Paradas seem very good Dan, have a chat with Steve (sm_wrc) about them, he has them at the moment.

Im still runnin the Toyo T1R at the moment. I need 2 new fronts, so i think ill stick with them too and only buy 2 as the rears are still pretty much untouched. I have been very impressed with them recently

19/57-15

we run a 205/50 15 road tyre (normally T1R or T1S)

So the toyo's in 205 would be fine as a dedicated track tyre fred? Worth spending the extra and getting 205 exalto 2's?

Have looked at the r888's, but uber expensive and mixed reviews on how much you get for your money. Seem to take some getting up to temperature from what ive heard. Not great on a cup, lol.

Can only seem to find the paradas in 195, at the moment its looking like toyos...

Dirt cheap as a bonus :D

exaltos i hate with a passion, i think they're crap!

R888's over priced, wear out too quick

T1R's are spot on, yes they last about 1 track day (on yoz's motor + right foot) but at about £35 each its no biggie
