Anyone else only drive there RS clios?

I was getting bored of my 172, thinking how it doesn't feel special or any good, but went and drove a 16 seater minibus, then got back in the clio, stalled in 3 times cos the clutch is so heavy, then found the only way i could drive it was revving lots to move off lol.

But anyway it felt like a rocket ship! Anyone else only ever drive their clio's? I very rarely drive anything else.

i have to drive a transit tipper allday and that is proper slow!!! takes forever to get to 60 when loaded!! love coming home and gettin in the clio still puts a smile on my face..

Nope, the clio is the only car I ever drive. The last time I drove another car (for a distance more than a few meters) was 2 years ago.

I have a 1.9 diesel Berlingo as my daily driver, so when i get back in my 172 it allways feels fast.

I drive the other halfs 1L daewoo matiz then get in the clio and feel like it's a rocket. (that's after I've realised the matiz doesn't stick to the road as well as the 182) :race:

I get to drive my gf's 1.7 ford puma, awesome car... brilliant handling and superb gear change. Just wish it was faster

Very easy car to drive though, even if the visability is crap.

I had my girls '04 1.4 Fiesta TDCi thing last week, put about 500 miles on it, then jumped back in my Clio on saturday. Clio didn't feel especially quick although the speedo said otherwise. Must to used to it by now.

I'm the opposite, I very rarely get to drive mine. I drive around 10 different cars a week with work, delivering and collecting around the country. The Clio's driving position is renowned for being not quite right and I would agree with this, clutch is a little heavy too but other than that it's great little rocket ship. Modern cars are very easy to drive with light controls and supple suspension, but they are all so different and thats where peoples choices and opinions come in I suppose. The only thing I would change on the Clio is the driving position, I think it may be the steering colum, doesn't quite feel to be in the right position, but thats just me I suppose.

My lady friend now drives mine and goes on and on about the rubbish position and the heavy clutch etc, although she likes the 'weighted' steering.

I drive a Fiat Ullysse and Renault Savannah diesel at work and appreciate the Clio every time I drive home. I have just got my classic Riley Elf back on the road and can feel the difference 40 years of car development mean. Braking, engine power and roadholding. The Elf really teaches you how much the Clio has these in abundance.

I can relate to that 100%.

I drive a 7.5ton truck for living and it can sometimes get fully loaded meaning speeds can drop to 35mph going uphill on a motorway :/

Then my RS Clio really feels like a rocket with roads to myself at 3am. The clutch however seems easier to us on the Clio compared to a HGV truck. Otherwise i can stall, the Clio clutch in general has a tendency to stall on me.

Thanks to that though i do appreciate the car more and feel its more fulfilling.

Modern cars are very easy to drive with light controls

In the past year I've driven a couple of hire cars; a small Citroen and a Fiesta. Both very new. Both had stupidly light controls IMO; felt awfull to drive.

I drive my boyfriends 1.2 now, so it makes mine feel like a rocket when I get in mine. I never used to really drive slower cars before though, so getting in another slower car felt horrible! I still sometimes forget when I drive his though, and go round roundabouts the same as I would in my own car, and it will squeal and slide, oops

I remember when I owned the Fiat Coupe (which was having an engine rebuild (oops) which took a few weeks!). So I was driving my dad's laguna most of the time. I finally got used to the Laguna so when I got my coupe back it was driving whilst sat on the floor very very fast indeed :evil: That is much more of a contrast to switching from that and the Clio in fairness mainly because of the ride height, but I def appreciate the clio's poke when im back in it :star:

drive the rs1 most days and can be a bit boring, but on a nice cold morning when its warmed up etc thats when i really appreciate it.

Wheel is too big and too far away. Seat is too high aswell. Thought of changing wheel since it's a knackered ph1. I drive a Vectra Estate Diesal 2l all day all week and really look forward to driving mine.
The turbo on estate is good at low revs but if you rev the Clio it soon reminds you of what a rocket it can be. Low revs it is poor though and the driving position annoys me.
Don't get me wrong wouldn't swap it just not the most comfortable for me but didn't buy it for that. Love the go-cart feel!

Trying driving a 54 plate 206 XSi for a day, then jumping back in the V6. Clutch differences you say? Good lord I'm pretty sure breathing on the 206 clutch would push it down, and the Vee virtually needs both feet

I went from my RS, to a 1.2 fiesta for two months, got the RS back (stalled it) then been driving a 1.2 clio 3 for another month... get the RS back tomorrow tho so probably stall it again...

I hate every car I get into after my RS...

I drive a Prius and Golf TDI 150 occasionally for work, and nearly put my foot thru the floor of the Golf when I change gear

The Prius is a POS as well, love getting back into the 172 sooo much quicker

Think I forget how much time my foot is on the floor with Vectra. Kinda like that turbo boost but doesn't compare to a light car with na engine.

Thing is when it's your Sunday car you treat it a bit more carefully but when you do let it roar it does and the 172 certainly does.

Still think I want more but been out looking for new car for my mate and most haven't really sold themselves to me. £ per bhp/tonne great car.

It's silver and plastered with massive pink and blue logos lol - nothing like advertising which company you work for when you're hooning round a bend too fast, I was nearly on two wheels lol

I don't usually drive the company 4x4s, luckily!!

drive a lot of other cars... a bmw 318ti (boring), a pug expert 1.9d non turbo... most 60 roads arnet long enough to let it get there but at a guess its about 25 seconds 0-60, seriously.
