Steering Wheel Re-Trim Group Buy??? Anyone wanna help start one?

Car  V6 230
Right, my ph1 172 steering wheel is knackered and wanna get it re-trimmed by somebody like Gibson & Boyne. I know there are lots of people who are in the same boat because Renault want over £249 for a steering wheel which "might be the right one, but we wont know until its here, it might be wrong"

Does anyone wanna help me set up a group buy to get this done?

James

Eh up, i've got a phase 2 steering wheel with knackered rubber bits and worn leather(fake so i discovered to my shock) as well that I'm interested in getting fixed!

It may be cheaper to find one from another mk1 172/v6 - although tbh even vee's with little mileage on still have knackered steering wheels (i'm talking cars on 10k with badly worn steering wheels)

I'm having one retrimmed by a mates brother who works reupholstering classic Bentleys and racing cars. I'll see how much it works out to be (he's given me a worst case maximum cost price, so it might even be cheaper) and if he didn't mind doing it I'll see if he wants to do more :P

Having it done in a navy blue leather that matches the dash, the leather was about a tenner (provided by him) and will see how much the labour is soon. But the worst case price was quite a bit cheaper than the £150 I've seen quoted here before.
