Any performance mod's for my 1.2 16v

  Clio
I got a 1.2 16v extreme and i have got an exhaust on it, just a back box, and a K&N filter, thats it!

I was wondering what other mods i could make to it to help improve its performance

all these cheep bits of tat wont do a damn thing for you car same for eco-tek valves, boost valves, eBay wonder chips, octain boosters etc its all rubbish and bad for your engine marketed to make you part with your cash.

or take mattblacks quote for me, just change your name from ben to what ever your name is..

Ben.....just take the electric motor out of your Mothers dildo - hook it up to a milk float battery with a Unimog 16 speed box and run it on high octane horse plss ??

Brakes and suspension are worth while areas to spend money on but at the end of the day its a 1.2 built for economy and not performance so your not going to squeeze any more power from it really

Speak to Fred, his little 1.2 was the quickest little car I had even seen, not a huge amount of power, but with the collies on it, it went like s**t off a shovel

  Black Gold with cup packs
Best modd Is to take it to the nearest garage that sells a mint Clio sport hand in the 1.2 and take away the sport.

Not worth any engine mods. Maybe look at stripping the car as you will gain from less weight, if feasible. Lighter wheels for the unsprung weight and then anything you can do without inside. Swap the windows for a pair of 1977 motor racing/flying goggles. Windows just slow you right down!

i spent a bit on mine had a lightned and ballanced bottom end, re profiled cam etc for it full exhaust, decat, filter.

at the end of the day DONT touch the engine performance wise you'll get little gains yes you could do all the above plus headwork etc but you'll only get 100bhp at the VERY VERY most.

but what i will say is spend your money on decent brakes and coilovers, get a cat back exhaust to get some noise and make it fun, get your induction kit and put it in the bin, put your airbox back on with a pannel filter, it wont gain you any but will restore the power your induction kits loosing you!

indeed, i ended up spending a load, on custom exhaust, sports cat, viper with custom feeds etc etc. Had the car rolling roaded at 85bhp, which is 10 on standard but still mnot worth the 1k i spent. Coilovers are the best mod you can buy, you can keep up with much quicker cars with ease round twisty roads
