Bypassing the immobiliser

  www.renparts.co.uk
Got an accident damaged 172 coming today, i need to test the engine before removing it for sale, but it comes without any keys as salvage often does, im just wondering how i can fire the engine up can i bypass the immobiliser and put a spare barrel i have on which has a key
thanks
josh

There are compnaies who can remove the imobiliser codes from the car.

IMO forget it it can be a lot of hastle only worth it if its sold to someone who is going ie a valver trnaplnat and wants the car stand alone.

The barrel doens't control anything.

Right, well im swapping the engines between 2 cars. will anything need coding? providing im using the original decoder ring or ecu?

If your swoping the whole engine etc into a car with the same ngine ie 172 engine into a 172 then there no issue with imobiliser etc.
