My first proper wash/clay/polish/protect

Car  RenaultSport 172
Hi there,
Well I'm absoutely knackered! Been cleaning the car all day! Perfect weather for it, lots of cloud cover, however that has made the pictures somewhat boring as my silver just looks grey and dull.
Started by washing with Megs gold class and wash mitt, dried, then clayed with the megs quick clay set. First time I've ever used clay before and I found it very easy. It took loads of stuff off and the paint felt so nice afterwards. Also due to the colour of my car I could really see the stuff coming off.
Then I applied menzerna intensive polish with the german applicator. Didn't do a very good job probably but tried my best. Buffed off with a microfibre towel.
Then I applied the Jeffs prime acrylic, and buffed off using a little acrylic gloss. Then used the acrylic jet and wiped over with a microfibre towel.
Its taken me hours and is definitely the most work I've ever done cleaning my car but i'm pretty happy with the results. The paint feels so smooth and hopefully should be a lot easier to wash from now on.
Anyway, here's the results, let me know what you think:

Thanks for looking
Steve

Ali, I agree. Have always modified my cars but the clio has gotta stay standard. I did get tempted and get side repeaters and silvervisions but they definitely make it look better. Only other mod is the seats but I had to do that!

Yeh, i mean the basics, like you mentioned are side repeaters, bulbs and the cup bits. But the 172 looks clean and tidy un-mod'd!

Hats off! :)

looks good mate! glad you've decided to keep it looking stock.

just one question - how is there a look on your drivers door? i thought the RS Clios didn't have looks on the driver side but did on the passenger side?? At least that's the case with my 182. maybe the 172's are different in that respect? mine is silver too and looks really shiny when polished. i need to get my hands on the clay kit though.

Late 172's don't have one either, I think it's 2003 year cars onwards.
