Worth the dollar?

Apparently the D3000 suffers from motion smear so not really worth paying the extra

Really I heard Samsungs and Sony share the same technology (bar the speakers which in the Samsung are supposed to be pants) :S...

All that Samsung and Sony share is the LCD panel. They have a joint company called the S-LCD Corporationthat makes them. All processors etc are manufacturer specific. I have an S series and love it. The D series shouldn't suffer from motion smear as it has 100hz rather than 50/60hz so effectively processing nearly twice the frames per second.

I wouldn't say that's the case at all. A quick look at other 32" models from Tosh, Samsung, Pana etc. they look pretty comparable next to other.

specs mean nothing lol manufacturers make most of them up to sell tv's


you wanted a 32 hmm in that case go samsung

Specs are specs but I don't generally go by them. Independant reviews generally tell the truth. All very well us bigging up another TV but the majority of us haven't sat down and tested them. Just saying that price wise there isn't as much difference as people make out. The S series is around the same price as similar TV's from other companies.
