Slow 182!!!

Car  SchwepTek™
After various tests on my private road ;), my car seems to be pretty slow in comparison to other RS clios, even 172s!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the car but its just seems generally slower!!! I'd hate to see what results it would get on a rolling road!

Anyone have any ideas why it would be slow and would something like inlet matching help or is it not really worth it?

It's those stripes, cause wind resistance.

Seriously though, how many miles have you done?

They could just be a bit more brutal with the upchanges? So variable. My standard 172 pulls ever so slightly on Riz's 182 (Yozz exhaust, ITG panel filter). He is a bit driving miss daisy though!

Yeh i am pants at changing gear LOL! Just thought there might be a bit of difference between a 182 and 172! Especially being a cup ;)

To be honest, that's probably it. The difference power wise is nothing compared to better gear changing, you can lose a considerable amount of potential power by not changing at the optimum revs.

I wouldn't worry about it. When I first had my 182 I got owned by Blink172 (a member on here who has a 172).
Some 172s are 'quick ones' even without having any mods.

"even 172s"?
lol 182s aren't any faster than 172s anyway, atleast from my experiences.

maybe get it RR'd to make sure its getting 175-180 bhp

LOL so why do people bother putting 182 manifolds on 172s if theres no difference. I just would have thought they should have a bit more go lol!!

I'm too scared to RR it in case it comes out as 100bhp lol!

because they think it will make a big difference but it doesn't.

I've spoken to a few people that have put a 182 manifold in a 172 and they said it wasnt worth it.

Also had a race with a few 182s and theres been literally nothing in it upto *** mph

Mate, it's probably your driving. When I was behind you on the breakfast run that time, I couldn't gain on you in the 172, and I can't drive for toffee, so I'd imagine the people you've gone up against can lol.

LOL yeh i'm beginning to think that after several "insured" people have taken it out for a spin ;)

Andy its the fringe. on a good note your car seems ok when i gave it some beans the other day. perhaps you need some lesons.
