30,000 Miles In A Baked Bean Tin! (Warning: LOTS OF PICTURES!)

Car  Inferno 182 w/ Recaros ;)
Well I crossed over 30,000 a few weeks ago now so thought I would post up some pictures of my Clio over the 2 years I've had it. I was planning to get rid of it when I got my next car, but I've changed my mind on what car I want to get next so it means I will be able to keep it as the other car isn't suitable as an every day car!

Renault Leceister had this thing back in their showroom back in July of '05, so I went to have a look.

I placed a £200 deposit down over the phone a couple of days later. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to pick the car up for another couple of months which was annoying but luckily the dealer didn't sell it in the mean time and kept it for me!

Finally got it all sorted and picked it up on 19th October 2005, it was raining which was unfortunate but it was a brilliant time. My car only had 9 miles on the clock!
(Other pics are of it waiting for me in the yard)

Next day I took some photos and then headed out to Donington at the weekend to take some more.

Its first big trip came in the form of a journey down to Norfolk for Xmas. Dad got his XK8 in November so him and my Mum travelled down in that and I followed in mine.

Then on February 5th, at 7am on a Sunday morning no less, some stupid woman caused this:

Which meant I was without my car for a good three weeks while they sorted it. Luckily the damage was only superficial and it was good as new when I got it back. Had only done roughly 4,500 miles in the car at this point!

Got the car stickered up for the trip down to Le Mans...

I'd had a fund that I'd saved up hoping to get an exhaust put on the car. But obviously I got caught speeding on the way down to Le Mans. 142mph resulted in my licence being taken off me, and a £500 fine!

Manged to get involved with the Tunnel Runs down in London and met a load of great people, and had a lot of fun as well!

Probably the most memorable moment in the car was Le Mans, or the time I was blatting around with an E36 BMW M3 and a Mosler after a Tunnel Run. Crazy crazy fun that was. :D

This was the tunnel run that was featured on Sky Ones Vroom Vroom show. You can actually see my car on the video for 1 whole second if you look closely at Westferry Circus!

looks really nice chappy.

Is a tunnel run what is sounds like, ie blasting it through tunnels? or there more to it?

you can't help yourself can you paul :nono:

Great pics mate... this very car is what made me buy an Inferno. Loved it when you first posted pics!

Yeah pretty much, although as standard my car can hardly be heard on them, even if you could hear it wouldn't sound that great. I go down just for atmosphere, and to meet a load of great people.

Couple of journals of the car as well:

I should really get around to writing a few more for the site, haven't had the time though! (May or may not be a lie about the time)

Some lovely pictures there, shame about the crash, not a nice site :( Such a nice colour in the sun.

crackin pics there pal, shame bout the crash. Least uv only done 30k though. i did 27k in 14 months in my old mk1!

And whilst I'm here - Mosler - WOW. I want to go on a Tunnel Run :D

Dan

It was down a slight hill, and still had around 500rpm to go. Obviously I nearly shat myself when I saw the damned Impreza! Stupid gendarmes.
