Cleaning alloy wheels.

  Whichever has fuel
Today i took a Golf in part ex that was soooo dirty it was untrue. (thats another story!!)

Anyway, the wheels had 2.5 years of unwashed brake dust on them and after TFR, AG engine and machine, AG wheel cleaner and finally some wonder wheels, NOTHING would shift it. At all.

TBH, i was at the end of my teather and was considering getting my mate booked to come and paint them as theres no way i could sell the car as it was....

Anyway, I called my Autoglym man and he offered me the following advice...

''Go to B&Q and get some Descaling Acid''

So i did... FOOKING HELL!! this stuff is proper nasty. Had the tarmac fizzing and my hands are now bright red and itching like f**k (ran out of gloves) but my oh my, we have some brand new wheels!!

Descaling acid is used for removing the limescale type stuff that builds up in water pumps/kettles/pressure washers etc.

£5.99 for 5 litres and you need to dilute it at a rate of 3-1 (3 being water)

Highly recomended!!

Sounds like I could do with some of that stuff for my central heating system as the pipes are banging. LOL
