ferodo DS2500 problem

hey, fitted some ferodo DS2500 to the 172 500 miles ago. They were a tight fit so had to take a mm or 2 away from the wings. They fit perferct and have lots of meat on the pads but i have found a problem.

After heavy usage the pads are sticking and making it squeal, after a run out and quickly jacked the car up and tryed turning the wheel. The wheel was very stiff to spin but became easy again once the pads had cooled down.

Is this just the pads expanding and due to them having alot of meat left as they are new sticking to the disc due to lack of space inbetween pad and disc?

down the sides as they were too wide for the caliper, took it equally off each side. The wing bits

The Ferodos are supposed to go on there without the shims. Maybe that's the reason for your problem?

Strange that so many people seem to have to grind them. Mine fit just fine right out of the box...

hmm well i cant see the problem with keeping the shims in after they have've had a little bit taken off them

yeah shims should have been removed, you might need to get a new set now you have taken bits off those depending on how they fit after u remove the shims
