Its funny how the first time one of these threads came about most people argued with me saying the £1000 cable would give a better picture.

How peoples opinions have changed.. well except that numpty Chrisjk. ;)

God there are some pub genius's in this thread.

You need a $400, gold plated HDMI tbh.

And then swap all the other connections and componenets internal to your tv and DVD for Gold while you're at it.

I've always been a big fan of getting the right cables on my analogue and digital audio equipment, and a different analogue cable can make a MASSIVE difference. I originally had the sh1tty patch cables which were rough, then upgraded to a £15 cable which was better, then my brother lent me a £30 cable which made the cd/amp sound phenomenally better!!

I have the CD hooked up with a £50 cable which is far better quality than the £20 digital coax cable.

Scart cables are similar too. Not too overboard but the old tv was hooked up with 3 THOR Scarts, about £20 each.

I unfortunately applied this theory when I bought my Viera and got a Cambridge HDMI and a IXOS HDMI for the DVD and xBox 360. £30 each. Dont know if theyre any better than the cheap sh!t ones.:dapprove:

See you next tuesday.:banghead:

if i'd spend £49 more than i needed to, i'd be convinced it was a better pic (although secretly knowing they were the same)

Actually after all this i was sat down and shown the difference between an 8£ cable and a 400£ cable! There was a noticeable difference on the same Blueray disk! Enough to warrent the extra cash! Was it b****cks!

I bought an upscaling DVD player and the picture is better not upscaled by the DVD player and using the scart afterall the tv is doing upscaling anyway cos if it wasnt the non hd pic would be in a small box in the middle.
