You'll need an Adaptor Plate for the Hose to attach to

i thot that for a bmc cda it would go straight to the throttle body. gonna look pants if i have to do that :S

I'm not 100% though as I've never had a 1.2 16v or a BMC

I'm afraid, yes this is true.

And adapter plate like this is needed.

If you had the later version 1.2 16v then the 90 degree bend will fit straight into the throttle body, and the BMC on the other end of it.

But for the engine model you have, you will need a adapter plate.... yes it will not look as 'cool' but it works just as well.

iirc, my mate tried ringing ktec about an adapter plate, and they don't provide them individually, you'll have to buy an induction kit off them and the adapter plate will come with it. Don't quote me on this, but i think this may be the case.

this is a real bummer, just speant £130 buying the bmc lol and never properly looked at it :S

K-Tec told me that they sold them seperatelty for something like £30 quid.

You need that shitty bit of plastic that I had in my kit.

  172 and vw passat
and you just sold yours lol. this is becoming a nightmare. might get one made up wanting it to have a wide pipe for more air :D

Yep, sold just the other day, if only you had said.

k-Tec quoted me £29 + VAT, you could prob get one made for that or less.

I've sold it a while ago i'm afraid.

Don't remember where i got it from, i think i bought it off R8 FTW! a long long time ago! Back then he was called Conbime....

I bought an IK off KTec and the adaptor plate didnt fit properly. Wouldnt bother with theirs, just get your own made up.

Ok since i had problems finding a adaption plate for this bmc. i went to my local scrappies and got another air filter box for £10  . and let my wee project commence.

i think that this will work but end of the day you could have just bought a pipercross kit from abay with the adapter plate for like £20-25. as for the reducer you will strugle to find one with those sizes but have a look on ebay and you might find something

now is a challenge to get from a 42mm, pipe to a 60mm. maybe a wee bit of fiberglass will be needed, or something.

The bmc is 70mm.

Did yours come with those plastic reducers? Could always glue one of them on and then get a 42-60 reducer.

bmc should arrive tomorow and it comes with a 65mm anda 60mm reducer supposidly.

The only problem is i cant find a 60-42mm reducer. closest i can find is 60-48mm. :(

Anything lower? I had to put a 51-70 onto mine and my intake is 53 bit of a stretch.

Try both the normal samco and the extreme range because some of the sizes are different.

  172 and vw passat
ye seen that the other day lol. i just returened my bmc in the end and got refunded. was more hassle than it was worth. and that adaption plate is pricy lol. just selling all mods hint beef set of rep sidskirts going for £100. gonna upgrade and get a 1.9tdi vw bora :p
