  Whichever has fuel
In the insurance company'e eyes, the car is only worth £3-3500 if it was mint. Hence why is been declared a write off!

the wheel has moved because the ball joint is broken and that how it sat when it was put down on the ground, well end of the day it will go for its vic soon and im sure they will tell me if it not ok :)

vic checks don't check for repairs and test the tracking on the car lol

a wishbone and balljoint are hardly major damage tho, and im sure he will track it up once fitted. longs the subframe hasnt twisted thats a cheap cup

write offs are very rarely worth doing anymore unless you can get an absolute bargain because the price of straight cars are so cheap at the moment.

so he brought a cup for 2k, can fix it up for 1k, its going to a body shop so the whole front end will be fresh, thats 3 k for a really clean low millage cup, well worth it in my eyes

No need to be patronising, end of the day once this car is done it will be to 100% and it will have a full 4 wheel alignment check.

It will always be cat-c which he will have to sell on cheaply as well. a "fresh front end" lol

It will be harder to sell on too.

I'm not saying it's a piss poor deal it's just your never really getting something for nothing.

How was that being patronising you fool? I was simply informing you vic checks don't check the car's in the way you think...

ment fresh front end so no stone chips and such, so in good condition. harder to sell? not really, most people understand what a cat c write off is and its not a worry to them, theres going to be lots of cat c clios about in the next few years due to the value decreasing, if it was a new 197 on a cat c id expect it to have loads of dammage and thus not be worth it, but older cars are for a good cheap deal.

yeah 2 of them and made about 2.5k on the same of both y?
wasnt done for selling tho, just put them up for about a 1k less than market value with a full assortment of pictures showing the damage and the repair work involved.

lol are you on crack - most people on this site DON'T know what a cat-c car is and I can assure you the majority will not touch one.

In todays market he'd be lucky to get £2.5/3k for a cat-c cup when repaired.

your going on like its about the return on the vehicle, do you not own your car for what it is not worrying about what you get in return come time to sell up?

grown up world?

I don't want to sound rude but have you any idea what you are talking about?

Depends if your an idiot I suppose, i'd always think what it's worth...

I guess i'm just picky as I work in the trade. Hell what would I know.

do you? most people have a car because they want that car, not because its a money making exercise, thus making the value of the car after the work irrelevant. cat c isnt that bad atall, if it was a £1000 car it would be cat c if a headlight and bumper needed replacing, does that make it not worthy of being on the road? theres nowt wrong with driving a cat c car as long as the reapir work has been carried out to a high standard. mabey this chap who seems to like his renault wants to keep the car for himself or mrs rand doesnt care for the value of it in the same cash happy way you care for yours?

end of the day this post will show what happens to this car, if you dont like it then dont post on here and you views seem to offend everyone as you start with insults

Anyway i'm off out, would love to ramble on about this crap all day. I guess what your saying is a passion for cars and not caring about the value blah blah blah which is not wrong and is dependant upon the person.

In my eyes I always look at the money factor and whether it's "worth" doing and i'd always take into consideration the re-sale value but that's just me.

i gave my view, and you replied with "depends if your an idiot i suppose"

Read your question then read my answer and I think you'll find that was no way a direct insult. You and myself were referring to people in general not an invididual person. Stop trying to make something out of nothing.

yea i no it has no spliter on it ( on order ) and the bullet is not dry yet thats why its not on
